Carroll Wafford "Buddy" Williams

Funeral services for Carroll Wafford “Buddy” or “Papa” Williams, 82, of the Rocky Hill Community will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Bobby Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery.

Affectionately known as Buddy or Papa, Mr. Williams was born August 19, 1933 in Chireno, Texas to the late R.C. and Nelia (Perry) Williams, and entered Heaven Thursday, September 17, 2015 at his residence.

Buddy, a former resident of the Chireno-New Camp area, had resided in the Rocky Hill Community for the last 50 plus years. He was a paper maker who loved his job, and an active member of the Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist Church, serving the church and community as a Deacon for many years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Saint Paul and was a lifetime V.F.W. member. He especially enjoyed making rings for family and friends, cooking, fishing and hunting, the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Astros, and the telling of a good, clean joke.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Drue Williams of Rocky Hill, and Penny and John Adams of Woden; sons and daughter-in-law, Scott Williams, and Bruce and Gina Williams, all of Huntington; grandchildren, Hailey Williams, Briana Cammack, Angelina Katen, Joseph Adams, Kendel Lamb, Caleb Williams, and Shelby Williams; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Hester Pinner of Huntington; sister-in-law, Loyce Williams of Huntington; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Waiting for his Heavenly arrival are his wife, Tony Williams; parents, R.C. and Nelia Williams; and brother, E.T. Williams.

Pallbearers will be Gary Williams, Perry Williams, Bo Dennis, Randy Deal, Norman Wayne Deal and Jimmy Carroll Deal.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Pinner, Zackry Pryor, Art Katen, Toby Cammack and Butch Deal.

The family wishes to extend thanks to Affinity Hospice.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery, P.O. Box 1322, Huntington, Texas 75969 or the Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 4040 Harley Golden Road, Huntington, Texas 75949.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
