Funeral services for J.T. Capps, Sr., 79, of Diboll will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Darryl Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Capps was born December 25, 1935 in the Beulah Community of Angelina County, Texas to the late Tom and Jewell (King) Capps, and died Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in a Houston hospital. Mr. Capps was a lifetime resident of Diboll. He served in the U.S. Army and owned the Brisket House in Diboll for over 30 years. Mr. Capps enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved serving people and working at the restaurant. Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Perkins of Galveston, Janet Lindsey of Lufkin and Judy Lee of Orlando, Florida; sons, J.T. Capps, Jr. and wife Paula of Huntington, Wendell Capps and wife Beverly of Beulah, and Jimmy Lee Capps and wife Molly of Fairview; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Elliott and husband Aubrey of Houston, Hayden Capps of Huntington, and Maggie Driskell of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Thomas Capps; brother, Charles Capps; and sister, Nora Havard. Pallbearers will be Joe Capps, Steve Capps, Jimmy Dale Jones, Diego Horta, Michael Allen and Austin Allen. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
