Funeral services for Nelda S. Manley, 76, of Hudson will be held Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Simpson Cemetery. Mrs. Manley was born January 27, 1939 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Carrie Ann (Morgan) and Luther M. Stubblefield and died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in Lufkin. Mrs. Manley was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and Hudson. She retired from the Lufkin Daily News after twenty-five years of service in the Classified Department. She was a member of the Woodlawn Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Kelly Manley of Hudson; grandchildren, Jessica Manley, Nathan Manley, and twins, Amber and Katelyn Manley all of Hudson; sister and brother-in-law, Mona and Royce Byrd of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Beverly Haskins of Hudson; and brother-in-law, Ray Manley of Lufkin. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Robert H. Manley and daughter, Robyn Renee Manley. Pallbearers will be Glenn Haskins, Brad Haskins, Craig Teafatiller, Jake Teafatiller, Edward Williams, Randy Turner, and Jason Williams. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
