Memorial services for Norma Leona Nash, 91, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ford Adkins officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. Mrs. Nash was born July 13, 1924 in Pollok, Texas to the late Charles Augusta Hadaway and Treba Bessie Mae (Simms) Hadaway, and died Friday, August 28, 2015 in a local hospital. Mrs. Nash was the Cafeteria Supervisor at Anderson Elementary School for 25 years. She was known for her Ranger Cookies and was referred to as “The Cookie Lady” at Anderson. Mrs. Nash loved to sew, crochet, cook, read and work crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Cross Timbers Cowboy Church. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, James and Dale Nash of Humble, Gary Nash and Curtis Nash, both of Lufkin; daughter, Carolyn Sue Elmore of Lufkin; daughter-in-law, Betty Nash of Goldonna, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bobby Porcher of Lufkin; very special friend, Nita Noel of Lufkin; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; and her chihuahua, Buttons and chiwieny, Brudtis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmie Nash; son, Charles Nash; grandson, Jimmie Leeland Nash; granddaughter, Amanda Gourley; brothers, Curtis Augustus Hadaway, J.W. Hadaway and Everett Hadaway; and sister, Audrey Mae Hadaway. The family will welcome friends and loved ones beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, and immediately following the services.
