Funeral services for Bennie George Capps, 72, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Clayton McClendon officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Capps was born March 4, 1943 in Diboll, Texas to the late Ruby Mae (Allsbrooks) and Claudie Lee Capps and died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Lufkin. Mr. Capps had resided in Angelina County most of his life. He served in the United States Army from November 27, 1961 to September 4, 1964. He was a self employed home builder and recently attended Lufkin First Assembly Church. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kim Capps of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Autumn and Arlie Conner of Lufkin and Jennifer and Phillip Kleiss of Woodstock, Georgia; son, Judd Capps of Tyler; five grandchildren, Cameron Conner, Brody Capps, and Kacy Capps of Lufkin and Lauryn and Lily Kleiss of Woodstock, Georgia; mother of his children, Gloria Vasquez of Tyler; brothers, Donald Capps and wife Billie Jean, Joe Capps and wife, Christine, Kenneth Capps and wife, Ginger all of Diboll, Lawrence Capps and wife, Sunshine of Athens, G.W. Capps and wife Dianne of Clarkston, Washington; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Royce Capps. Pallbearers will be his brothers and grandsons, Donald Capps, Joe Capps, Kenneth Capps, Lawrence Capps, Cameron Conner, and Brody Capps. Honorary pallbearer will be G.W. Capps Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504, W. Frank Avenue., Lufkin, Texas 75904. Special thanks to Hospice in the Pines and staff. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service Thursday morning at the funeral home.
