Billy E. Robertson

Services for Billy E. Robertson, 83, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Nacogdoches with Pastor Rebecca Hyde officiating. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Robertson was born April 15, 1932 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Willis and Madelene (Tindall) Robertson, and died Sunday, August 30, 2015 in a local hospital.

Mr. Robertson had resided in Lufkin for 50 years. He graduated from Nacogdoches ISD in 1950 and served in the U.S. Army in the 240th Quarter Master Company. He retired from Beall’s Department Store in 1987, where he served as Vice President of Store Operations. One year later he joined Morgan Insurance and retired as a commercial insurance sales representative in 1996. Mr. Robertson was an avid golfer and past President of the Lufkin Country Club. He was also past President of the Lufkin Evening Lions Club and a member of the P&D Travel Club. Mr. Robertson and his wife enjoyed traveling in their motor home. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Lufkin.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Mavis Robertson of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Tim Healy of Lufkin; stepsons, Kevin Faulkner of Nacogdoches and Mike Faulkner of Carthage; step-grandchildren, Barry Faulkner, Eric Faulkner and Heather Faulkner; step-great-grandson, Barrett Faulkner; and sister, Betty Robertson Dean of Nacogdoches.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mozelle (Allen) Robertson; and sister, Margie Ballow.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
