Carrol Parker

Graveside services for Carrol Parker, 74, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Gann Cemetery with Patrick Eddings officiating.

Mr. Parker was born September 14, 1940 in Angelina County, Texas to the late L.T. “Jiggs” and Bobbie (Allen) Parker, and died Thursday, August 27, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Parker was a lifetime resident of Angelina County and a graduate of Central High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962, stationed in Germany during the Cold War. Mr. Parker was a member of the Local IBEW Union and retired from the Abititi Paper Mill following 42 years of employment.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Parker of Lufkin; sons, Dr. Matthew Parker and wife Kim of Nacogdoches and Chris Parker of Maryland; daughter, Andi Parker Dickerson and fiancé J.R. Wilson of Lufkin; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Parker of Hudson; grandchildren, Aiden Parker, Avery Parker, both of Nacogdoches, Parker Dickerson, Abi Dickerson, Chyian Wilson, Dakota Wilson, all of Lufkin, Hunter Parker of Hudson and K.K. Parker of Pensacola, Florida; sisters, Noel Eddings and husband Jerry of Chireno and Nila Patterson and husband Jerry Wayne of Central; sister-in-law, Joy Parker of Central; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Allen L. “Sonny” Parker.

Pallbearers will be J.R. Wilson, Cody Parker, Thomas Eddings, Wesley Eddings, Justin Mott and Jeremy Mott.

Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Parker, Clay Parker, and Bill Spiller.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
