Funeral services for Gloria Ruiz Ramirez, 57, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with William Prentice officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Carroway Funeral Home. Ms. Ramirez was born April 5, 1958 in Eagle Pass, Texas to the late Dora Elia Ruiz and Alvino Alvirez and died Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Lufkin. Ms. Ramirez had resided in Lufkin all of her life. She was a homemaker. Gloria’s children fondly remember their mothers beautiful singing voice and that she used to sing in a band in her earlier years. Her favorite thing to do was play bingo, but mostly she loved her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Jessica Ortega and husband, David, Rachael Martinez and husband, Antonio, Carmen Badillo and husband, Federico all of Lufkin; son, Rene Ramirez, Jr. of Lufkin; grandchildren, Alexis and Nayelie Sarabia, Valerie, Alek, Norma, Marvin, Arelie, and Leovannie Ramirez, Tracy and Kaylan Martinez, Isaac and Natalia Badillo, Alex and Yuriana Ortega; sister, Hortencia Quevedo; numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvino Alvirez and Dora Elia Ruiz; and brother, Abelino Alvirez. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
