Gail Thompson Cummings

Funeral services for Gail Thompson Cummings, 64, of Lufkin will be held Monday, August 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Pat Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Cummings was born August 14, 1951 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Mary Frances (Stanaland) and Eulon “Rinkey” Thompson and died Thursday, August 20, 2015 in Lufkin. Mrs. Cummings had resided in Lufkin all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Union Road Church of Christ. Gail was always willing to help anyone in need and was especially compassionate about helping individuals with disabilities in the community and rallying for their rights. She loved the Lufkin Panthers and provided the art work for the Senior Scrapbooks each year. Her family fondly remembers her always looking out for her neighbors, enjoying riding her motorcycle, planning fun family trips, but mostly for giving them a loving home. Survivors include her husband of forty-six years, Lynn Cummings of Lufkin; Son, Michael Cummings of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Clay and Alana Cummings of Universal City, Timothy and Mellisa Cummings of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Steve and Misty Cummings of Lufkin; grandchildren, Abbie, Brittiney, and Julie Cummings, Michael and Cuyler Starkey, Angelica and Skylar Fontenot, Vincent and Tori Turberville; great-grandson, Taran Fontenot; brother, Zane Thompson of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Terry and Jimmy Easterly of Bryan; sister, Mary Ann Thompson of Lufkin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glenn and Glenda Cummings of Lufkin; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Doris Cummings. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
