Donald Luce

Funeral services for Donald Luce, 81, of Hudson will be held Monday, August 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Westside Apostolic Church with Pastor Jeff Jones, Reverend Ronald Smith, and Reverend Willie Wade officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Mr. Luce was born January 6, 1934 in Trinity County, Texas to the late Libby (McClain) and Vincent Alexander Luce and died Thursday, August 20, 2015 in Lufkin.

Mr. Luce had resided in Hudson all his life. He was a retired logger. He loved his family, working outside in his yard, and reading western books. Mr. Luce was a member of the Westside Apostolic Church.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Helen Luce; son, Larry Luce of Lufkin; daughter, Lee Johnson of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Robert Trawick of Lufkin and Stacey and Joe Longwell of Houston; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ada and Simon Womack, Barbara and Jessie Ashby of Lufkin, Linda and Don Grigsby of Madisonville; sister, Miriam Williams of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Luce of Lufkin; numerous other nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Luce; son-in-law, Clayton Johnson; and grand-daughter, Sherry Lynn Kelliher.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Fann, Waymon Dominy, Wayne Dominy, Bob Pate, Jared Dunn, Jessie Nash.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Dominy, Bennie Dominy, and Morris Dominy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Westside Apostolic Church, 4737 Ted Trout Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Westside Apostolic Church.
