Louise Hawk Jones

Funeral services for Louise Hawk Jones, 85, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Eulogies will be given by Dean Jones and Ronnie McMullen. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery. Mrs. Jones was born January 7, 1930 in Tyler, Texas to the late R.D. and Annie Mae (Moore) Hawk, and died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in a local nursing home. She had resided in Lufkin most of her life. Mrs. Jones was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Jolly Seniors Sunday school class. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Murrell Jones of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Royce McGaughey of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Kay Jones of Bar Nunn, Wyoming and Arthur and Linda Jones of Diboll; grandchildren and spouses, Dewayne and Shelby Reese, Sandy White and fiancé Brad Lewis, Kristie and Shane Trahan, Kenny Jones, and Tara and Joe Cole; great-grandchildren, Tyler White, Katie RaeLee Jones, Kiely BriAnn Jones, Mason Kyle Cole, and Halle Rice; special friends, Nadine Jones and Cliff Murphy; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Dewayne Reese, Kenny Jones, Shane Trahan, Joe Cole, Garland Hawk, Mike Paulson, Doug Hawk, Jimmy Sloan, Charles “Country” Sorrell, and Jimmy Loving. Honorary pallbearers will be Beamon Calhoun, L.C. Whitehead, Joe Lowe, and members of the Jolly Seniors Sunday school class at Trinity Baptist Church. The family extends special thanks to the staff of Southland Rehabilitation and Healthcare for their loving care of Mrs. Jones. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
