Msgt. Francis William "Ski" Zabroski (Retired)

Funeral services for MSgt. Francis William “Ski” Zabroski (Retired U.S. Marine Corps), 72, of Wells will be held Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church of Wells with Brother Andrew Pearle and Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Zabroski was born August 9, 1943 in Marshfield, Oregon to Ella Marie (Hanson) and Francis Walter Zabroski, and died Friday, August 14, 2015 in a local hospital.

Mr. Zabroski was a longtime resident of Wells. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 19 years, including the Vietnam era, retiring as Master Sergeant. He then worked at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center for 27 years. Mr. Zabroski was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Wells.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Zabroski of Wells; mother, Ella Marie Peterson of Eugene, Oregon; children and spouses, Kevin and Mary Zabroski of Ft. Hood, Leslie Armes of Lufkin, Lisa Robertson of Turlock, California, Stefani and David May of Central, California, Steven Stanford of Austin, Shaye Stanford of Wells, Bentley Tudor of Austin, and Karla Stanford of Wells; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Don Benford of Eugene, Oregon and Jackie and Ernie Cooper of Lakeview, Oregon; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Keith, Jerry McKnight, Stacy Seymore, Bentley Tudor, Josh Rains and Trent Rains.

Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers from the Lufkin State Supported Living Center.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
