Lavetta Henderson

Lavetta Henderson, 98, of Lufkin died Monday, August 10, 2015 in Lufkin. She was born October 4, 1916 in Anderson County, Texas to the late Roy and Pearl (Adams) Hassell. Her family will welcome friends and loved ones Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Parlor of Lufkin’s First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Henderson had resided in Lufkin since the early 1950s. She worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses for many years. Mrs. Henderson enjoyed flower gardening. She was a member of Lufkin’s First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, R.V. Hassell and Bobbie Hassell of Lufkin; nieces, Tanya Parker and Tarra Glaze, both of Lufkin; and nephews, Rory Hassell, Radd Hassell, and Ryan Hassell, all of Lufkin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Edgar Henderson.
