Wally Abram

Visitation for Wally Abram, 78, of Lufkin will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Wally was born August 10, 1937 in Jamestown, Texas to the late Elvin and Ellen (Holland) Abram, and died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at his residence.

Wally graduated from Port Neches High School. He had resided in Lufkin for 45 years. He worked for Berwyn Walker Trucking, P&S Trucking, and then opened his own trucking business, Abram’s Trucking, which currently leases to GMR Trucking. For over 40 years he drove an 18 wheeler across the United States. There are very few states he had not been through and made friends, because he never met a stranger. Mr. Abram was very involved with the Boy Scouts with his son Austin. Wally enjoyed being with his family and friends. In his free time he loved yard work and fishing.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Darren Foreman of Lufkin; sons, Eric Abram of Conroe and Austin Abram of Lufkin; grandchildren, Elizabeth Foreman, David Foreman, Colbi Abram and Brant Abram; sister, Frances Nelson of Beaumont; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Polly; and sister, Darla Turner.
