Funeral services for Jimmie Ray Marshall, 93, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Newton and Pastor Don Schultheis officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in the Walker Cemetery. Mr. Marshall was born June 3, 1922 in Alto, Texas to the late Emily Ann (Powell) and Clarence William Marshall and died Saturday, August 8, 2015 at his residence in Lufkin. Mr. Marshall had resided in Lufkin for most of his life. He served in the United States Navy from 1942-1946. He retired as a Supervisor with the Southland Paper Mill after 35 years of service. Mr. Marshall loved hunting and fishing. He also loved family events and his friends. He was a member of the First Nazarene church where he would often volunteer. Survivors include his wife of sixty-seven years, Dolline Marshall; daughters, Linda Welch and husband, Jim, and Vicki Coats, both of Lufkin; son, Kevin Marshall and wife Deneice of Lufkin; grandchildren, Tyson Hoover and wife Cristina, Jennifer Horton and husband, Ben, Lora Holt, Emily Holt, Brian Holt, Caitlin Marshall, Patrick Price and wife, Sue, Beau Price and wife, Venus; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Belle Burgess, Violet Little, Naomi Knight, and Elizabeth Aldredge all of Lufkin; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; three sisters; and son-in-law, Larry Coats. Pallbearers will be Sonny Smith, George Little, Marshall Corley, Brian Holt, Beau Price, and Tyson Hoover. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Murphy, Denton McCoy, John Courtney, Ralph Dunman, Bill Stovall, and Aubrey Smith. The family would like to extend special thanks to Tonya Jones and Sally Holman. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas, 75904 or The Joseph House, 5783 FM 841, Lufkin, Texas 75901. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
