Martha Ann Lowery

Funeral services for Martha Ann Lowery, 58, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Browning officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery. Mrs. Lowery was born November 25, 1956 in Lufkin Texas to Nancy (Reeves) and Champ McAlister and died Saturday, August 8, 2015 while under the care of Hospice in Lufkin. Mrs. Lowery had resided in Lufkin most of her life. She retired from the Lufkin State Supported Living Center after six years of service. She was always a hard worker and was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of the Lancewood Baptist Church. Survivors include her parents, Champ and Nancy McAlister; sons, Dr. Michael Lovejoy of Dallas and Alton Lovejoy, Jr. of Hudson; daughter, Lee Ann Stephens and husband, Wesley of Hudson; son, Brian Lowery and wife Kristen of Hudson; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Lily McAlister of Hudson; and eight wonderful grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her dear friend, Janice Lynn Bomar and her beloved dachshund, LuLu. Pallbearers will be Randall Oates, David Nick, Jacob McAlister, Paul Mouton, Greg Thompson, and Brad Childers. Honorary pallbearer will be Wesley Stephens. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
