Esther Jo (Litterll) Moel

Graveside services for Esther Jo (Litterll) Moel, 86, of Zavalla will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Concord Cemetery near Zavalla with Pastor Linley “Link” Ham officiating.

Mrs. Moel was born November 24, 1928 in Argyle, Texas to the late Betty Lee (Allen) and H.G. Litterll and died Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Southland Rehabilitation in Lufkin.

Mrs. Moel was a former resident of Sulpher, Louisiana and had resided in Zavalla, Texas for the past 35 years. She was a homemaker and gardening was her life. Mrs. Moel and her late husband Lyle, along with Roy and Thelma Roberson were instrumental in the formation of the Lufkin Chapter of the National Alliance for Mental Illness. Her devoted involvement spanned over 27 years.

Survivors include her sons, Mike Jones, Dennis Jones, and Leslie Jones; daughters-in-law, Patty Boyd and Barbara Jones; step-daughter, Ellen Moel; step-son, Donald “Scooter” Moel, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Reavis Gene Jones and her second husband, Lyle Goerge Moel; twelve siblings; and two grandsons, Kenneth Jones and Kevin Jones.

Special recognition is given to Pattie Boyd, former daughter-in-law, who has been at Jo’s side through her journey for the last couple of years.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the Huntington Funeral Home.
