James Welch

A memorial gathering for James Welch, 67, of Longview, will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Welch was born November 21, 1947 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Dorothy Jean (Barchus) and James Welch. He died Friday, July 24, 2015 in a Longview hospital.

A resident of Longview for the past few years, Mr. Welch had resided in Lufkin most of his life. He was retired from Temple-Inland following more than 20 years of service. He was an inspiring, loving father and grandfather, and he had a soft spot for all his kitties.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Steven Humphrey of Helendale, California; his daughter, Brandy Estrada of Houston; grandchildren, Chloe, Ethan and Dylan Humphrey, all of Helendale, California; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
