Virgie Johnson

Funeral services for Virgie (Caples) Johnson, 87, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 2:00, p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Clayton McClendon officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells. Mrs. Johnson was born August 20, 1927 in Huntington, Texas to the late Martha (Hadaway) and Noah Caples and died Monday, July 13, 2015 in Lufkin. Mrs. Johnson was a lifetime resident of the Lufkin area. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Arvil T. Johnson of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law Ray and Judy Johnson of Lufkin; grandchildren, Michael and Tracy Johnson, Kelly and Shalana Hyde, Larry and Kay Bailey, Denise and Steve Bridges, Johnny and Bonita Davidson, Richard and Shawn Davidson, Karen and Jerry Atkins; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael Lee Johnson; daughter, Linda (Johnson) Davidson; and granddaughter, Missy Johnson. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
