Funeral services for Helen Jo Richard, 89, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow Friday, July 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Union Chapel Cemetery in Van, Texas with Reverend Suzanne Ferguson officiating.
Mrs. Richard was born October 15, 1925 in Van, Texas to the late Nancy (Taylor) and Walter W. Welch and died Monday, July 13, 2015 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Richard, formerly of Orange, had resided in Lufkin for the last fifteen years. She was a homemaker and member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her son, James Richard of Lufkin; son, Clifford Richard and wife, Pam, of Willis; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earnest Richard in 1992; seven brothers and three sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Assembly of God Church, 3863 Ted Trout Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
