John Thomas Burnette, Sr.

Funeral services for John Thomas Burnette, Sr., 76, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Gary Forrest officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. Mr. Burnette was born May 17, 1939 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Elizabeth (Sims) and Obey Burnette, and died Sunday, July 5, 2015 in a local nursing home. Mr. Burnette was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He served in the U.S. Army and owned Burnette Mobile Home Service. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, John and Lani Burnette of Lufkin and Robert and Lisa Burnette of Huntington; granddaughters, Jennifer Young and Natasha Burnette; four great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Ed Norris of Hudson; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon prior to the services.
