Funeral services for Flora Mae (Radke) Scott, 86, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Owen officiating. Interment will follow in the Aldredge Cemetery.
Mrs. Scott was born January 28, 1929 in Dallas, Texas to the late Theola (Porter) and Paul Thomas Radke, and died Saturday, June 27, 2015 in a local hospice facility. She enjoyed 86 years of going with the “Flo”.
Mrs. Scott had resided in the East Texas area most of her life. She was a florist, grocer, and waitress, and had a great passion for flea marketing. Flora was an entrepreneur and loved crafting of any type. She enjoyed making dolls, crocheting and sewing. Flora always saw the good in everyone when no one else could. She helped many souls find their way in dark times. She was a rock for so many, but a soft place to land. Mrs. Scott was a member of the Dunn Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include her children, Nanci Gilmore of California, Roy Carroll Kennedy, Melba Kennedy, Jimmy Russell, Donnie Russell and Dianna Collard, all of Lufkin; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, James E. Radke of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Jim McCarter of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Robert Scott; and grandson, Jimmy Dwayne Russell.
Pallbearers will be John Bryan, Doug Read, John Read, Wesly Collard, Christian Collard, Jordan Collard, Russell Marquardt, and Josh Powers.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
