Doyle Ray Harvill

Funeral services for Doyle Ray Harvill, 87, of Lufkin will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Williams, Brother Dean Jones, and Brother Ronnie McMullen officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Carrell Cemetery.

Mr. Harvill was born March 1, 1928 in the Shawnee Prairie Community of Angelina County, Texas to the late Lemeul H. and Ruth (Burkhalter) Harvill, and died Monday, June 22, 2015 in a local hospital.

Mr. Harvill was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. He graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Harvill served in the US. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a retired foreman from Champion International (Southland Paper Mill when he started). Mr. Harvill was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed gardening, and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa (Harvill) and Melvin O’Quain of New Orleans, Louisiana; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Merri Harvill of Burke and Kenneth and Ronda Harvill of Lufkin; grandchildren, Joseph O’Quain, Mark O’Quain, Shawn Harvill and Tanya Pancorvo; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Iva Nell Ahrens, Renee Tawil, both of Houston, and Doris Wedgeworth and husband J.B. of Carthage; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Joann (Reeves) Harvill; second wife, Rexena (Malone) Harvill; and nine siblings.

Pallbearers will be Arlis Havard, Danny Havard, Phillip McGaughey, Royce McGaughey, Johnny Wedgeworth, Dale McGaughey and Steve Clark.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin.
