Funeral services for Addie Pheonix, 87, of Longview, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Donald Britton officiating. Interment will follow the services. Mrs. Pheonix was born February 2, 1928 in Palestine, Texas to the late Frank and Eula (Lassiter) Lamb, and died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in Longview. A Lufkin resident for most of her life, Mrs. Pheonix had resided in Longview for one year. She was a retired office administrator, and a volunteer for Memorial Health Systems. She loved traveling with the Luf-To-Go Sam’s Club. Mrs. Pheonix was a member of Bassett Road Baptist Church in Palestine. Survivors include her daughters, Teresa Neal of Longview and Sereta Thornton and husband Gary of Hudson; grandchildren, Jerod Pheonix, Blake Thornton, Jana Benedict, Julie Neal, Clay Thornton and Emily Watson; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Lealand Britton of Palestine; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alton Pheonix; brothers, Rayburn Lamb, Lester Lamb, Leonard Lamb and Kenneth Lamb; and sisters, Vivian Campbell and Lanita Greeve. Pallbearers will be Lynn Britton, Marty Debow, Todd Benedict, Jerod Pheonix and Ted Britton.
