Maurice Price

Funeral services for Ottie Maurice Price, 87, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother D.R. McNaughton officiating. Interment will follow in the Wallace Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Price was born February 20, 1928 in Midway, Texas to the late Mary Gertrude (Atkinson) and Marion L. Price. He died Sunday, June 14, 2015 in a Lufkin nursing facility.

Mr. Price was a machinist and machine shop owner. His passions included providing for his family, ministry and the love of God, playing the guitar, fishing, yardwork and landscaping, and machine work. He was a member of Harborlight Church.

Maurice Price was a truly devoted Christian, husband and father, and a positive influence and role model to his family and everyone he came in contact with. He was avid in Bible study, and many looked to him for understanding of God’s word. He was a special man, and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Ken Reeder, Sherry and Ray Glenn, and Ruby Barker; grandchildren, Michael Willmon, Steven Glenn, Bryan Willmon, Russell Smith, Scott Reeder, and Trecia Reeder; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Douglas Price; sister, Geraline Emanis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Price was preceded in death by wife, Oletha Price; mother, Mary Gertrude Price; father, Marion Lee Price; brother, Raymond Price; and sister, Leitha Mae Cain.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 209 Christie Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904, or to Southland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, 501 N. Medford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75901.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
