Funeral services for Jacqueline Ford Smith, 86, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Aubrey Knox officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Smith was born December 26, 1928 in Chestnut, Louisiana to the late James Elmer and Helen (Chandler) Bogan, and died Saturday, June 6, 2015 in Lufkin. Mrs. Smith had resided in Lufkin for more than 60 years. She retired as an order entry supervisor from Lufkin Industries following 22 years of service. She loved reading and gardening. Christmas was her favorite holiday. Mrs. Smith was a member of Lufkin’s First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Glenn Smith of Lufkin; daughters, Pamela Ford White of Apple Springs, Patricia Ford Thompson and husband Billy of Timpson, Phyllis Ford Clark and husband Dennis of Lufkin, and Paula Ford Odom and husband Don of Willis; stepsons, Richard Smith and Bobby Smith, both of Katy; grandchildren, Whitney White Walhof and husband Michael of Katy, Courtney Bush Workman and husband Matt of Carthage, Heath Bush and wife Katie, Ashley Clark Underriner and husband Tyler, all of Dallas, Dustin Clark and wife Casey of Katy, and Ryan Colmer of Conroe; great-grandchildren, Julia Catherine Walhof, Sadie Jacqueline Walhof, Payton Walhof and Ashley Walhof, all of Katy, Madeline Helene Workman, Carson Hanford Workman, Charlotte Frances Workman, all of Carthage, Ella Katherine Bush of Dallas, Kaylee Marie Clark, and Lillie Jean Clark, both of Katy; very special friend, Tonya Odom of Apple Springs; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, William Earl “Bill” Ford; granddaughter, Kathryn Bush; and great-grandson, William Chandler Underriner. Pallbearers will be Heath Bush, Dustin Clark, Ryan Colmer, Michael Walhof, Matt Workman, and Tyler Underriner. The family extends special thanks to the staffs at PineCrest Retirement Community and Hospice in the Pines for the loving care of their mother.
