Funeral services for Jerry Glenn Wood, 64, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mark Livingston officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery. Mr. Wood was born April 11, 1951 in Lufkin, Texas, to Lonnie T. Wood and Dorothy (Davis) Wood, and died Friday, May 15, 2015 in Houston. Mr. Wood resided in Lufkin for all of his life and was the owner of Jerry Wood Trucking. Jerry was a graduate of Lufkin High School and attended Angelina Jr. College. He enjoyed golfing and hunting with his family and friends. He loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren who called him “Papa”. Mr. Wood was a member of Keltys First Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Nancy Wood of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Jarrod and Sabrina Wood and Joe and Denise Wood, all of Lufkin; grandsons, Mason Wood, Carter Wood and Graham Wood, all of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Lonnie E. and Pat Wood of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Merle and Raymond McAdams of Lufkin; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tommy Wood. Pallbearers will be David Hendry, Chad Wilson, Josh Senn, Kevin Murphy, T. J. Martinez and William Wooten. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Lofton, James Smith, Darrel Richardson, Wayne Wilkerson and L.J. Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Keltys First Baptist Church, 2404 North John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
