Billy Glynn Laird

Mass of Christian Burial for Billy Glynn Laird, 58, of Lufkin will be held Monday, May 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Gavin Vaverek officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Laird was born May 27, 1956 in Lufkin, Texas, and died Thursday, May 7, 2015 in a local hospital. He resided in Lufkin most of his life. Mr. Laird liked deer hunting, and loved going to the lake and looking for arrow heads. He loved his grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with family. Mr. Laird liked tinkering with “old stuff”. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Vicki Laird of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Lindzey and Cason Harris of Lufkin, Amber and Wesley Davis of Apple Springs, and Alison Laird and Levi Forsythe of Lufkin; grandchildren, Michael Harris, Bayley Harris, Payzlea Davis, and Lane Laird; parents, Alice and Orren Schmidt of Lufkin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Elgin Lary of Longview and Sharron and John Ball of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Shelly Schmidt of Monroe, Louisiana; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and his cat, Kazz.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Alice Y’Barbo.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Carroway Funeral Home, before and after the Rosary.
