Clarence R. "Pete" Ferguson

Funeral services for Clarence R. “Pete” Ferguson, 81, of Hudson will be held Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John W. Greene officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Ferguson was born January 11, 1934 in Rosevine, Texas to Willie Mae (Seals) and Sim Taylor Ferguson, and died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in Lufkin. He had resided in Hudson for 44 years. Mr. Ferguson served in the U.S. Army and retired from Lufkin Conroe Telephone Exchange following 32 years of employment. He was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church where he served as a greeter for 20 plus years. He loved working at the telephone company and just enjoyed retirement and working in his yard. Mr. Ferguson was a fun and loving father and grandfather. Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Mitchell of Beaumont; stepsons, Gary Stokes and wife Sandi and Mike Stokes and wife Teresa, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Brian Mitchell, Christi Mitchell, Jeremy Mitchell and wife Keila, Courtney Morales and husband Ralph, Daryl Stokes, Sirena Stokes and Gary Rector, Trey Stokes and wife Jennifer, Beth Johnson and husband Phillip, Ben Stokes and wife Melissa, and BreAnn Stokes; 20 great-grandchildren; and nephew, Gary Ben House and wife Linda of Jasper. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary Ferguson; second wife, Joyce Ferguson; and daughter, Pat Mitchell. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Mitchell, Brian Mitchell, David Murphy, Ronnie Alsbrooks, David Alsbrooks, Butch Sapp, Paul Vaneman and Carl Bryan. Honorary pallbearers will be the Home Group of Harmony Hill Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W.
