C.W. Tillar, Sr.

Funeral services for C. W. Tillar, Sr., 84, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scott Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the Narrow Way Cemetery.

Mr. Tillar was born February 10, 1931 in Lufkin, Texas to Daniel L. Tillar and Susan E. (Cook) Tillar, and died Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Lufkin.

Mr. Tillar had resided in Lufkin all of his life. He was a driver/operator for Emmons Garbage Service for 28 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising animals, tending to his garden and sitting around a fire. He loved dancing and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Tillar of Lufkin; son, C.W. Tillar, Jr. and wife Angel of Lufkin; daughter, Tammy Williams and husband Bryan of Huntington; sons, Glen Tillar, Rogar Tillar and wife Debbie, James Tillar and wife Lola, Harold Tillar and wife June, all of Lufkin; daughters, Liz Taylor and husband Jerry of Hudson and Connie Burnette of Lufkin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Doney of Lufkin; brother, George Tillar of Lufkin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel L. Tillar and Susan E. (Cook) Tillar; daughter, Michelle Moody; brothers, Glen Tillar, Coleman Tillar; sisters, Virginia McDonald and Inez Tillar.
Pallbearers will be Cody Williams, Clay Tillar, Waylon Tillar, Brandon Hebert, Rudy Camacho and Shawn Tillar.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
