Luther Lynn Nichols

Funeral services for Luther Lynn Nichols, 60, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Nathan Pannell officiating. Interment will follow in the Knight Cemetery. Mr. Nichols was born January 22, 1955 in Crockett, Texas to Everett Lanier Nichols and Bessie (Burnett) Nichols, and died Thursday, April 16, 2015 in a local hospital. Mr. Nichols had resided in Lufkin for most of his life. He worked offshore for Longnecker Riggers. Luther enjoyed hot rods, fishing, camping and dirt track races. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Tubbs) Nichols of Lufkin; sons, Lynn Nichols and wife, Melida of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Clayton Nichols and wife Niki of Diboll; step-daughters, Bessie Jo Pierson and husband Scott of Denver City, and Samantha Williams of Lufkin; step-son, Jimmy Jones and wife, Kelly of Huntington; son, Jimmy Lakoda Jones of Lufkin; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Nichols and husband Junior of Lufkin, Betty Rhoades and husband Ken of Llano, and Clydine Nichols of San Antonio; brothers, Elvie Nichols of Chireno and Lanier Nichols and wife, Patricia of Lufkin; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmie Nichols; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Robert Marshall. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Jones, Jason Moore, Bryan Demny, Jimmy L. Jones, Ricky Tubbs, Joe Benny, Richard Tubbs and K.C. Lynch. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
