Oliver Franklin "Frank" Tubbs

Funeral services for Oliver Franklin “Frank” Tubbs, 69 of Lufkin will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kevin Poage (his buddy and friend) officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery. Mr. Tubbs was born February 17, 1946 in Lufkin, Texas to Oliver William Franklin Tubbs and Francis Marie (Crawford) Tubbs and passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 in a local hospital after a short illness. Mr. Tubbs resided in Lufkin all of his life. He attended Hudson School. Frank worked at Wickes Lumber Company, Leslo Sales, R.R. Donnelley, Goodwill, and Texas Metal Casting. Mr. Tubbs did lumber work, forklift shipping and last of all, worked as a security guard. He enjoyed hunting, watching car racing on television and at different circle tracks. He was a fan of NASCAR and many other sports. Frank enjoyed joking and kidding around, especially with his cousin Travis. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Katherine (MacKenzie) Tubbs whom he married on April 12, 1969. He was not blessed with children, but his dogs Dixie, Xena, and Princess, and other deceased pets were his children. They were treated with love and affection. Other surviving relatives are his aunt, Bobbie Cook of Diboll; uncle and aunt, James B. and Nell Crawford of Lufkin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Fred Henley of Collinsville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Pete and Kristy MacKenzie of Plano; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and his best friend, John Duke. Mr. Tubbs was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Virgil Reynolds, Numan Gray, Sam Morris, Jerry Fisher, John Van-Scoy and Joe Mac Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be John Duke and Langston Perritte. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home.
