Lawrence Ray Bailey

Funeral services for Lawrence Ray Bailey, 45, of Huntington will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Lufkin First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Don Schultheis and Pastor Kenneth Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Ray was born December 14, 1969 in Lufkin, Texas to Lawrence Alvin Bailey and Judy Ann (Nash) Orozco, and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.

Ray was employed by Frito Lay for four years. Ray was raised in Jasper and graduated from Jasper High School. He loved his kids and enjoyed watching them play sports and dance. He also enjoyed watching University of Texas Longhorn football. Ray was an avid reader. He took great pleasure in attending church and he loved the Lord. He attended Huntington First Assembly of God.

Survivors include his wife, Kristie Bailey of Huntington; daughter, Courtney Bailey of Tyler; sons, Crew Chief A1C Chad Bailey of Beale AFB, Sacramento, California, Ben Killam and Grider Killam, both of Huntington; daughters, Kasey Bailey, Hannah Matteson, and Abby Matteson, all of Huntington; son, Chase Bailey of Huntington; father, Lawrence Alvin Bailey of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Leanna Bailey Odom and husband Scott of Lumberton; brothers, Scott Bailey and wife Dawn of Lufkin, and Daniel Orozco of College Station; nieces, Brooke, Madison, and Jenna Bailey, all of Lufkin; and numerous other family members.

Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Ann (Nash) Orozco.

Pallbearers will be Scott Odom, Shawn Sweetwood, Derek Bobbitt, Lalo Jaimes, Mike Branson and Doug Standley.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
