Funeral services for Beunis Bailey “Buck” Faussett, 86, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clayton McClendon and Brother Billy Trevathan officiating. Interment will follow in the Shofner Cemetery. Mr. Faussett was born July 19, 1928 in Center, Texas to William “Bill” and Maggie (Griffin) Faussett, and died Thursday, March 26, 2015 in a local nursing home. Mr. Faussett resided in Lufkin most of his life. He retired from Champion Paper Mill following more than 41 years of employment, and had also owned Quick Sale Used Cars. Mr. Faussett’s favorite hobby was antique cars. He was a member of the V8 Ford Club of America for over 60 years. You could always find a Model A and Flathead Ford in his garage. He also enjoyed swap meets and different types of racing. He was the owner of the #39 car at the old Lufkin Speedarama. Mr. Faussett loved telling stories of his childhood, and talking about all the cars he had owned. He loved making coffee for Grant Knight Motor Co. and spending time with the guys. Until the end he talked of getting a motor home, going to eat catfish, and going to Kilgore to see the late models run. Mr. Faussett joined Clawson Assembly of God Church in 1948. He served as Church Treasurer for more than 35 years. Survivors include his son and best friend, Michael Faussett and wife Cindy of Lufkin; granddaughter, Kelli Faussett and fiancé Jon Mayo of Tyler; grandson, Christopher Faussett and wife Megg of New Orleans, Louisiana; sister, Ernestine Bryan of Huntington; nephews, Darrell Bryan and Berlin Bryan and wife Cathy, all of Huntington; three great-nephews; two great-nieces; five great-great-nephews; and five great-great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and sweetheart of 59 years, Hattie Mae (Davis) Faussett; son, Bobby Delton Faussett; and brothers, William Osie Faussett and Richard Henry Faussett. Pallbearers will be Chris Faussett, Darrell Bryan, Berlin Bryan, Kasey Bryan, Ricky Henson and Grant Knight. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clawson Assembly of God Church Building Fund, 5569 US Highway 69 N, Pollok, Texas 75969, or Heart to Heart Hospice, 209 Christie Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon prior to the services.
