Kenneth E. Vann

Funeral services for Kenneth E. Vann, 73, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roger Fancher and Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Vann was born October 26, 1941 in Alto, Texas to Thomas Edward and Mattie Mae (Kellum) Vann, and died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Vann resided in Lufkin most of his life and served as City Engineer for the City of Lufkin for 32 years. He enjoyed wood working, hunting, traveling, history and geography. Mr. Vann loved horse racing and scheduled his vacations around the races. He was a past member of the Lufkin Pine Squares square dance club. Mr. Vann was a member and trustee of Bald Hill Baptist Church. He also served as Sunday School Director and Chairman of the Nominating Committee.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Joyce (Liles) Vann of Lufkin; son, Terry Vann of Spring Branch; daughter, Tammy Vann Clements of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Keegan and Katelyn Vann of Cedar Park, Brittany and Clay Walker of Henderson, Logan and Brittney Vann of New Braunfels, Kase Vann and Kovey Montes, both of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Peyton Vann of New Braunfels, Easton Vann, Brooks Vann and Asher Vann, all of Cedar Park; brothers, Billy Vann of Central, Ted Vann of Lufkin and Stephen Vann of Huntington; and hunting buddy and special friend, Billy Ratcliff of Lufkin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mattie Mae Vann; sister, Sandra Tatum; brother, Larry Vann; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Faith Vann.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Mouton, Kase Vann, Mike Seale, Logan Vann, Keegan Vann and Clay Walker.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Victory Sunday School class at Bald Hill Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bald Hill Baptist Church, 128 Leon Tillman Road, Lufkin, Texas 75901.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
