Funeral services for Troy Tullos, Jr., 85, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.
Mr. Tullos was born September 6, 1929 in the Redland Community, Angelina County, Texas to Allie (Warren) and Troy Tullos, Sr., and died Monday, March 23, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Tullos was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He served two years in the U.S. Army and retired from Southland Paper Mill following 36 years of employment. He loved gardening, canning, quail hunting and cooking. He was known for his fried shrimp. Mr. Tullos was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Timmy and Letha Tullos and Terry Tullos, all of Lufkin; granddaughter, April Adams of Lufkin; sister, Fannie Mae Garner of Houston; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Oline Tullos Strahan, Dorothy Tullos Jones, Geneva Tullos Burkhalter, and Ernestine “Red Top” Tullos Hein; and brothers, Clark Tullos and Howard “Hokey” Tullos.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy McCarty, Monte Stafford, Mike Carswell, Joey Haskins, Bo Waller and Glendyl “Rabbit” Griffin.
Honorary pallbearers will be John A. McCarty, Seedy Nevills, Billy Allen and David Haskins.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
