Betty Doris Grimes

Funeral services for Betty Doris Grimes, 85, of Ft. Worth will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will follow in the Treadwell Cemetery.

Mrs. Grimes was born December 20, 1929 in Huntington, Texas to Lloyd M. Forrest and Zula (Fancher) Forrest and died Thursday, March 19, 2015 in Ft. Worth.

Mrs. Grimes Forth was the Co-owner of L. Grimes and Company, Inc. in Ft. Worth for more than 40 years. She loved to garden and raise flowers and liked fishing, reading, and watching NASCAR. Betty especially enjoyed cooking and feeding her friends and family. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Ft. Worth.

Survivors include her son, Leamon Grimes, Jr. of Ft. Worth; daughter, Sondra Powell of Alvarado; granddaughter, Michelle Grimes of Ft. Worth; grandson, Aaron Grimes of Mansfield; great-grandson, Aaron Grimes, Jr. and great-granddaughter, Rehmey Grimes, both of Mansfield; sisters, Jo McCaskill and Eyvonne Pinner of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, June and Preston Williford of Lufkin; and numerous nieces and nephews, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leamon Grimes, Sr.; sisters, Imogene Ramsey and Helen Forrrest; and brothers, A.J. Forrest and R.B. Forrest.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Fussell, Archie Pinner, Welton Brookshire, Mike Lucky, Brandon Fussell and Carl Sanford, Jr.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
