Elaine Evans Frazier

March 31, 1925 — March 19, 2015

Memorial services for Elaine Evans Frazier, 89, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Brian Wiggins officiating. Private burial will be in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Frazier was born March 31, 1925 in DeRidder, Louisiana to Clarence Evans and Reatha (Laird) Evans. She passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 in Lufkin. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University at the age of 15 and married McCall “Mack” Frazier in Lufkin February 16, 1946.

Mrs. Frazier was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was ordained by Dr. Stephen Cooke. She had served as Sunday School teacher for many years. She also served on the Board and on the Memorial committee four years and with the Presbyterian women for over 50 years. She helped plan and design the Prayer Garden with Don Harrison.

She was a member and past President of the Literary Club of Lufkin, a member and past President of the Dogwood Garden Club, and served on the Guild of the Museum of East Texas at its beginning. She was also a member of the “Spools” and a charter member of the Friday morning Bible Study for its first 20 years. Her services also extended to the Kurth Memorial Library in the old building with Mrs. McCall at its helm.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mack Laird and Llewellyn Frazier; grandsons, Lloyd Frazier and wife Emily and Matthew Richardson and wife Jennifer; granddaughters, Elaine Frazier Wagstaff and husband Lee and Andrea Richardson Johnson; great-grandchildren, Scott Matthew, Noah Matthew, Abigayle Jules, Madeline Elaine and Samantha Jane Richardson, Katherine Elaine, Caroline Elise, Lyle Laird, Emily Claire and Carson Cain Frazier, Audrey Ellen Wagstaff and Jerry Lee Wagstaff III; sister-in-law, Dorothy Frazier; and special niece, Lauree Burkett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Milton Everard Evans and David Edward Evans; her dear husband, Mack Frazier; and beloved daughter, Lucinda Frazier Richardson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 607 Jane Way Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will receive friends at a reception following the memorial service at First Presbyterian Church.
