Charles B. "Bud" Jacks

Funeral services for Charles B. “Bud” Jacks, 78, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Lofton officiating. Interment will follow in the Broaddus Cemetery. Mr. Jacks was born August 6, 1936 in Zavalla, Texas to Louie B. and Ollie Augusta (Barge) Jacks, and died Monday, March 16, 2015 in a local hospice facility. Mr. Jacks had resided in Lufkin for 26 years. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the 211 Local Union in Houston where he was a pipefitter and welder for 37 years. Mr. Jacks was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Broaddus. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Eva Jacks of Lufkin; sons and daughter-in-law, Larry and Larkin Jacks of Kountze and Jason W. Jacks of Lufkin; daughter, Pamela K. Jacks of Lufkin; granddaughter, Sarah Henderson of Buna; brother, Kenneth Jacks of Sulphur Springs; sister, Joyce Shuff of Lumberton; sister-in-law, Jean Jacks of Lufkin; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Jacks; and sister, Dorothy Riley. Pallbearers will be Billy Jo Williams, John Charles Lockard, Bobby Joe Lockard, Carlton Callahan, David Scarborough and Ricky Riley. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
