Homer Kroeker

Funeral services for Homer Kroeker, 88, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Aubrey Knox officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery. Mr. Kroeker was born March 16, 1926 in Cordell, Oklahoma to Henry D. and Gertrude (Guertzen) Kroeker, and passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 in a local nursing home. Mr. Kroeker had resided in Lufkin for more than 40 years. He worked for White’s Stores, Inc., for 32 years. He also served as Building and Grounds Superintendent of Lufkin’s First Baptist Church for 11 years. Mr. Kroeker loved to travel, camping, and going out to eat. He was a member of Lufkin’s First Baptist Church and the Friendly Sunday school class. Survivors include his “darling” wife, Pauline Kroeker of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Mike Bintliff of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Aldonna Kroeker of Nacogdoches and Larry and Micki Kroeker of Dobbin; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Chuck Flowers of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Kenny and Stacia Tole of Austin, Wyatt and Jennifer Tole of California, Shelly Tole of Lufkin, Josh and Jennifer Kroeker of Pollok, Jake and Nicole Kroeker of Conroe and Shauna Reiley of Dallas; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and two sisters. Pallbearers will be Wyatt Tole, Kaleb Selman, Josh Kroeker, Chuck Flowers, Larry Bonner and Kenny Tole. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
