Garvis Lester Goodwin, Jr.

Graveside services with military honors for Garvis Lester Goodwin, Jr., 72, of Huntington will be held Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Mt. Hope Cemetery with Brother Bobby Spencer officiating.
Mr. Goodwin was born January 24, 1943 in Houston, Texas to the late Garvis Lester Goodwin, Sr. and Katherine Jeanette (Walker) Goodwin, and died Monday, March 9, 2015 in Pasadena.

Mr. Goodwin served in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1970, during the Vietnam era. He received a BS in Electronics from the University of Houston where he earned the honor of being on the Dean's List several semesters, and was also a registered nurse. He played the Chet Atkins style of guitar for his personal and family entertainment.

He is survived by his sisters, Myrie Chrystine Goodwin of Pasadena and Shirley Dehmer of Marble Falls; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was known to always have companion dogs. WoWo and Tramp survive him.
