Marshall E. Jackson

Graveside services for Rev. Marshall E. Jackson, 87, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Old Union Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Barth officiating.

Reverend Jackson was born March 10, 1927 in Houston County, Texas to the late Dollie (West) and Arch Jackson. He died Saturday, February 21, 2015 in a nursing facility in Wellington, Texas.

Reverend Jackson had resided in Lufkin most of his life. He was a retired tool maker for Texas Foundries following more than 30 years of service. He was also a Baptist minister, with the last church he pastored being Old Ivie Baptist Church at Kennard. Reverend Jackson served in the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Lavern Jackson of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Joanie Jackson of Shamrock, Texas; grandchildren, Isaac Jackson, Jacob Jackson, Caleb Jackson, Luke Jackson, Samson Jackson, Makayla Jackson, Kristi Dunn, Craig Gause, and Kyle Gause; great grandchildren, Sophia Jackson and Xander Gause; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Reverend Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Marshall Ray Jackson and David Evan Jackson; and sister, Kathryn Harrison.
