Funeral services for Joe Sanches, 59, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Hinsley officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Knight Cemetery under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. Mr. Sanches was born October 20, 1955 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Tony and Virgie E. (Thompson) Sanches, and died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in a local hospital. Mr. Sanches was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He worked for Lufkin Industries for 35 years of employment as a welder. Mr. Sanches was a member of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M., Lufkin Shriners Club, where he was currently serving as Vice-President, and the Lufkin Host Noon Lions Club. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Rita Sanches of Lufkin; sons, Jeremy Sanches and fiancée Susie Alanis and Stephen Sanches, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Jordan Sanches, Hunter Sanches and Yissel “Pretty Girl” Martinez; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony, Jr. and Bertha Sanches of Austin, Roy Sanches of Houston and Leon and Vernie Sanches of Hudson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Roger Burges of Lufkin and Janie and Joe Mack Allen of Allentown; mother-in-law, Betty Flowers of Diboll; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Clint Burges, Greg Sanches, Terry Sanches, Danny Burges, Manuel Alanis and Abelardo Escobedo. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
