Truman Hall

Funeral services for Truman Hall, 78, of Huntington will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Jackson Colwell and Brother Steve Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery. Mr. Hall was born November 22, 1936 in the Ora Community, Angelina County, Texas to Clifton Ervin and Maudie Lee (Jordan) Hall, and died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Hall resided in Huntington most of his life and was a logging contractor. He enjoyed woodworking, loved the outdoors and walking in the woods, and was always joking and kidding. Mr. Hall was a member of the Harmony Odell Missionary Baptist Church where he served for 40 plus years as deacon, song leader and as an assistant Sunday School teacher. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Martha Hall of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Brenda Hall of Tyler; daughters, Tammy Grimes of Zavalla and Stephanie McKinney of Natchitoches, Louisiana; grandsons, Matt Grimes of Houston, Justin McKinney and wife Hope of Huntington, Garrett McKinney of Nacogdoches and Michael Hall of Tyler; granddaughter, Brittany Grimes of Zavalla; great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Brylee McKinney of Huntington and Avery Grimes of Zavalla; sisters-in-law, Nell Cowart of Elkhart and Ruth Cowart of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ray and Alpha Cowart; and brothers-in-law, Amos Cowart and Charles Cowart. Pallbearers will be Matt Grimes, Justin McKinney, Garrett McKinney, Michael Hall, Carl Robertson and David Cowart. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
