Memorial services for Virgil Coy Berwick, 72, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Raymond Butts officiating.
Mr. Berwick was born March 19, 1942 in Alto, Texas to Eli and Christine (Williams) Berwick, and died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in a local hospital. He had resided in Lufkin for more than 35 years and retired from Lufkin Industries where he was a machinist. Mr. Berwick was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Lufkin V.F.W.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Evadell Berwick of Florence and James D. and Mary Berwick of Livingston; niece and primary caregiver, LaDonna Stapleton of Lufkin; and a number of other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ida Maud Wright, Ernestine Knight and Charlene Simpson.
