Funeral services for Carrie L. Whinery, 43, of Lufkin will be held Monday, February 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Nathan Panell officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.
Mrs. Whinery was born June 1, 1971 in Tyler, Texas to Max Sherman Gabbard, Sr. and Debra Lavahon Grant and died Friday, February 6, 2015 in Lufkin at Hospice in the Pines.
She had resided in Lufkin for most of her life. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Chris Whinery of Pollok; sons, Zachery Whinery of Fort Drum, New York and Joshua Whinery of Pollok; mother and step-father, Debra and James Clary of Fuller Springs; father and step-mother, Max and Lila Gabbard of Manchester, Tennessee; sisters, Geneva Moore and husband Benji of Lufkin, Billie Self and husband Frankie of Huntington; brothers, Max Gabbard and wife, Michelle of Lufkin, Amos Clary and wife Mendy of Fuller Springs; grandmother, Betty Nichols of Lufkin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin and Gladys Whinery of Lufkin; brothers-in-law Paul Whinery and wife, Mona of Lufkin, Michael Whinery and Joey of Etoile, Louie Whinery and wife JoNell of Lufkin; Coy Whinery of Etoile; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Bill Grant and Max Gabbard, step-grandpaw, John Craig and Gmaw Gabbard.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Campbell, Tommy Self, Joseph Self, Jason Gann, John Glaze and Jason Gabbard.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday morning at the funeral home.
