Larry Douglas Cloyd

Funeral services for Larry Douglas Cloyd, 67, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Greene and Jim Myers officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery in Trinity County. Mr. Cloyd was born January 18, 1948 in Lufkin, Texas to Ernest Cloyd and Loeween (Milligan) Cloyd, and died Sunday, January 25, 2015 in a local hospital. Mr. Cloyd resided in Lufkin all of his life. He had been employed by Lufkin Industries for 46 years. Upon retirement, he was Shipping/Receiving Supervisor for the last 35 years. He had served as President of the local Boilermakers #587 from 1966-1978. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed fishing. His passion was to take youth to the Open Youth Deer Season. He was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sheree Cloyd of Lufkin; daughters, Wendi Cloyd of Lufkin and Leanne Hutchison of Huntington; a son, Dustin Cloyd of Lufkin; grandson, Dylan Cloyd of Lufkin; brother, Mike Cloyd; sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Glen Cummings of Lufkin; brothers-in-law, Wayne Waggonner and Hank Waggonner, both of Lufkin; Joseph and Garland Waggonner, both of San Augustine; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joey and Susan Waggonner of Lufkin; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Elvin Dias, Keith Austin, Ricky Buchanan, Wayne Waggonner, Joey Waggonner, Steve Cloyd, Leon Amie and Jim Myers. Honorary pallbearer will be Hollis Mott. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the ladies at the Salvation Army Adult Day Center for their special care and the love they gave Larry. Thank you for the dance.
