Funeral services for Floyd W. Hall, 94, of Diboll will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Aubrey Knox officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery near Woodville.

Mr. Hall was born October 24, 1920 in Fletcher, Texas to Jessie Lee Hall and Minnie Lee (Bumstead) Hall, and died Monday, January 19, 2015 in a local hospital. Mr. Hall had resided in Diboll since 1982.

He served as an air traffic controller in Panama with the Army Air Corps during WWII. He went to work for Sun Pipe Line Company as soon as he returned home from WWII and worked there for 36 years until his retirement. He had a large garden and gave a lot of produce to friends, family and neighbors. He had flowers blooming year round. He also was an avid fisherman. He had several articles published in the Lufkin Daily News about growing up during the Depression, his gardening, and his dog Cody, the smartest dog in East Texas. Prior to joining Lufkin’s First Baptist Church in 1989, he had served as Adult Department Superintendent, Training Union Director, and taught several Sunday School classes in various churches. He had also preached with the Rescue Mission in Beaumont and was an ordained deacon for 60 years.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Chuck Dendy of Lufkin; grandson, David Dendy of Lufkin; granddaughter and husband, Denise and Austin Wright of Lufkin; two step-daughters, Pam Cooper of Plano and Paula Kebodeaux of Beaumont; sister, Maxine Varnado of Kentwood, Louisiana; six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Aurelia Ann “Sue” (Stafford) Hall; his second wife, Juanita Woodcock; brothers, Jessie Lee Hall, Jr. and James Henry “J.H.” Hall; and a sister, Vivian Richardson.

Pallbearers will be Omer Lee Hall, James Hall, Wayne Hall, B.B. Stanfield, Ray Scott, Thomas E. Johnson, and Bill Cameron.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendly Sunday School Class.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
