Ruby Lee Pettigrew Brooks

Funeral services for Ruby Lee Pettigrew Brooks, 65, of Huntington will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Ted Ivy and Alec Bridwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Orchard Cemetery.

Mrs. Brooks was born March 23, 1949 in Idabel, Oklahoma to George L. and Mary Ellen (Scott) Pettigrew, and died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at her home in Huntington. She had resided in Huntington for more than 30 years. Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker and also the bookkeeper for Brooks Heavy Equipment Repair.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Charles Brooks; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Buddy Weisinger; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Kelley Brooks; granddaughters, Krista Martin, Miranda Jones and Adam Havard; grandsons, Tyler Brooks and Colbey Chamblee; great-grandchildren, Rancen, Kaelyn, Canaan, and Cash, all of Huntington; mother, Mary Ellen Pettigrew of Texarkana; sister, Carolyn Neff of Texarkana; best friend of 40 years, Tommie Morris Grider of Lufkin; and numerous other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Pallbearers will be Jason McGaughey, James Youngblood, Colton Havard, Bruce Williams, Chad Richey and Kelvin Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Moore and Tommy Burrous.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
