She was always involved in community activities including the Service League, Community Theater, Book Clubs, Rotary Anns, and the Women of the First Presbyterian Church. But most of all, “Mimi,” as she was known to her beloved granddaughters, was most happy in the kitchen with her family around her. Rhozine was a wonderful Christian mother, but she excelled at being “Mimi”. Summers were filled with swimming and every holiday was filled with baked cookies and lots of love. She adored “her girls” and deeply cherished their love. Rhozine is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Jack Wilson Tucker; son and daughter-in-law, Jack Wilson Tucker, Jr. and Jackie Behrendt of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Scott Taylor of Bryan; granddaughters, Robin Taylor of Houston, Laura Taylor of Dallas, and Amanda Tucker of Houston; and great-granddaughter, Sosie Tucker-Underwood of Houston. She is also survived by her sisters, Juanita Sisk of Lufkin, Renee Hayes of Beaumont, and Myriam Brown of South Carolina; as well as many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rhozine was preceded in death by her sisters, Azelle Denum and Charlotte Slack; and brother, Juan Leon Yeates. The family would like to thank Dr. David Glenn and his staff for the many years of wonderful care. Pallbearers will be Robert Denum, Jacques Balette, Jeff Taylor, Dennis Johnston, Ford Albritton and James Hayes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Melinda Webb School at the Center for Hearing and Speech, 3636 West Dallas Street, Houston Texas 77019.
